Every year, the country produces about 1.5 billion gallons of these frozen treats. Since it hit the stores in the 1980s, frozen yogurt has become very popular.   1. Skip the non-fat varieties of frozen yogurt. For a long time, before carbs were viewed as the enemy, fat was considered to be the worst thing in the world that you could eat. Fat free everything popped up on the market and people bought these products in droves. The problem is that manufacturers of non-fat products add a lot of sugar to compensate. Not all frozen yogurt that is fat free has been loaded with sugar but getting a version with some fat is your safest bet to avoid sugar overload.
  2. Limit how much sugar you add. When you are at the store and you are deciding what frozen yogurt and frozen yogurt supplies you will get, think about what you are putting on the dessert. When frozen yogurt first hit the stores, it flopped. That is because the company had merely frozen the regular yogurt it was selling at the time.
