There are a lot of things that can go into a dish. Not counting love (although that should be in every dish you cook, whether it’s for you, others, or what!), there’s a lot more that is involved in cooking than simply following a recipe. What is guacamole, for example? It’s a lot more than a set of ingredients prepared in a certain way. There are a lot of executive decisions you have to make when you consider the answer to “what is guacamole”.
1. Flavor
Recipes using guacamole can take a lot of different forms. Some classic guacamole recipes can be flavored as anything from lime to chiles. The first thing to decide when making guacamole is which of these flavors appeal most to you! There are a lot of options, so you should be able to find one that matches your tastes perfectly!
2. Calories
Once you’ve picked a flavor, you have to think about the guacamole nutrition. Guacamole calories can be insidious things since it sometimes takes the form of a dip; you think the chips are safe, but the dip has plenty of its own. Consider your audience! Are any of your guests on a diet? Will that influence the flavor of the guacamole? After all, some flavors may come with different elements attached to them that have more or less calories. It’s always good to show some consideration in this regard! On the subject of calories…
3. Side Dishes
Will you only be serving guacamole? If you serve a side dish, make sure it has a flavor that is complimentary to the guacamole. Also ensure that it is at least as healthy as the guacamole dish you decide to make. How will you fill your plate?
